Protocol Security Research Team The Ethereum Foundation’s ecosystem financing initiative is to be announced Launch of the first Ethereum Protocol Attackathon With a bonus set of $1,500,000Hosted by: immunity. The attack will run between November 25 and January 20 and aims to strengthen the security of the Ethereum protocol through a large-scale collective security audit competition.
We invite the entire Ethereum community – from auditing firms to individual security researchers – to participate in this important event to help secure the Ethereum protocol.

What is an attack?
Attackathon is a timed audit challenge to strengthen the security of the Ethereum protocol. It begins with an educational phase where participants receive instruction on the protocol code via live technical guides and educational content from the Attackathon Academy. This stage ensures that participants are well prepared to identify and understand potential vulnerabilities.
During the Attackathon, security researchers will actively look for vulnerabilities in the protocol code. They will follow specific rules set for the contest, and only influential reports that comply with the rules will be rewarded. This phase focuses on solving problems in real time and applying the knowledge gained during the initial phase.
After the Attackathon, Immunefi will evaluate the results and compile them into an official report. This report will detail the vulnerabilities discovered, highlight key researchers, and celebrate their contributions and expertise.
