WazirX Bounty Program – Plan and Structure

In light of the recent cyber attack on July 18, 2024, which led to the theft of $230 million+ worth of digital assets, WazirX is launching a bounty program to help recover the stolen funds. We invite the community to participate in two charitable initiatives.

1. Track and freeze BountyHelp track and freeze stolen funds.
2. White Hat Recovery BountyAssist in the recovery of stolen funds with 10% of the amount recovered as a reward. We offer 10% (up to $23 million, ie 10% * $230 million = $23 million) as White Hat Bounty to the WazirX hacker in exchange for refunding the funds to the following wallet address:

Bounty 1: Track and freeze the money

• objectiveIdentify, track and provide actionable intelligence leading to the freezing of stolen funds.
• AwardRewards of up to $10,000 USD will be offered for actionable intelligence leading to unfreezing of funds. If the Participant is unable to freeze the funds on their own, they must cooperate with WazirX by providing sufficient evidence to facilitate the process. If a Participant fails to unfreeze himself and/or does not cooperate with WazirX to facilitate the unfreezing of funds, then the Participant is not entitled to any Rewards. If the funds are not frozen due to the provision of invalid information, the Participant is not entitled to any reward.

Bounty 2: Recovery of the White Hood

• objectiveFacilitate the recovery of stolen funds
• Award. 10% of recovered amount as white hat incentive. This reward will only be awarded after and subject to successful recovery of the stolen money by WazirX. Said rewards shall be paid in USDT or recovered funds at WazirX’s sole discretion.

The term::

This reward program will be valid for a period of three (3) months from the date of this announcement. However, the said period may be modified, i.e. extended or shortened with or without notice to the participants based on requirements and results.

General terms and conditions

General conditions

1. Stolen money refers to the money that was hacked and taken from WazirX Wallet 0x27fD43BABfbe83a81d14665b1a6fB8030A60C9b4.
2. Recovered money refers to stolen money that has been traced, frozen and returned to WazirX.
3. ComplianceThe Bounty Program is open to everyone, excluding current and former WazirX employees and their immediate family members.
4. PresentationAll submissions must include detailed information, including addresses, transactions and methodologies used for tracking and recovery.
5. PrivacyEntrants must agree to keep their submissions confidential and not disclose any information to third parties.

Track and freeze special reward terms

1. Evidence requirementSubmissions must include clear evidence linking the tracked addresses to the stolen funds.
2. Proof of conceptParticipants must submit a proof of concept showing how the funds can be tracked. This should include:

• Detailed transaction channels.
• Blockchain data analysis.
• Identification of addresses and their associations.

3. Active intelligenceThe information provided must be actionable, ie lead to the freezing of funds. If you cannot freeze the funds yourself, cooperate with us by providing sufficient evidence to facilitate the process. However, if the Participant does not provide valid information or cooperate with WazirX to freeze the funds, they will not be entitled to any rewards.
4. ReviewWazirX will verify the information before issuing the reward. Partial or incomplete information may not be awarded. WazirX reserves the sole right and discretion to evaluate the integrity of information.

Special conditions for the White Hat Recovery Award

1. Recovery methodParticipants must use legal and ethical methods to facilitate recovery of funds.
2. Proof of conceptA detailed proof of concept should be provided showing:

• Methodology of funds recovery.
• Steps taken to ensure recovery are legal and ethical.

3. Proof of restorationClear and verifiable proof of fund recovery must be provided to claim the reward.
4. Percentage calculationThe 10% reward will be calculated based on the total amount of funds recovered and returned to WazirX.

• Review:WazirX security team will review all submissions and determine eligibility and award amount.

Disclaimer

• WazirX reserves the right to change the terms and conditions of the rewards program at any time.
• Prizes are subject to verification and compliance with legal requirements.
• Participation in the Bunt Program does not constitute an employment relationship with WazirX.
• WazirX will endeavor, on a best efforts basis, to facilitate cooperation between law enforcement authorities and the successful Participant(s) who provide adequate and material documentary evidence proving the traceability of the stolen funds, as appropriate.
• A dispute resolution process, possibly involving an independent panel of blockchain and security experts.
• Reward based a first come first serve basis. Rewards must be paid in USDT or recovered funds at WazirX’s sole discretion.
• All applications will be reviewed within 72 hours of receipt. However, please note that the review time may increase if the volume of applications increases.
• Rewards will be paid within 60-90 days of freezing and recovery of stolen funds. However, the said period may be changed with or without notice to the participants based on the recovery process and schedule.
• Entrants will be notified by email of the status of their submission and any prizes awarded.
• A disclaimer limiting WazirX’s liability for any actions taken by participants in pursuit of a reward. By virtue of participating in this Bounty Program, Participant hereby fully waives any right of claim or action against WazirX, including its officer(s), director(s), employee(s), contractor(s), representative. (s) from any responsibility or liability relating to or arising out of this Rewards Program, including but not limited to the payment of Rewards.
