The EcoDev Research Team at the Ethereum Foundation is pleased to announce the launch of five six-month research fellowship positions. This fellowship provides participants with the opportunity to delve into unexplored Ethereum use cases, and identify barriers and enablers that may impact their development.
We invite researchers, developers, community members, and professionals from other industries to apply by submitting their basic information and a one-page research proposal. We are looking for innovative ideas focused on emerging Ethereum use cases that:
- Monetarily and uniquely benefit from the capabilities of Ethereum.
- Focus on use cases that create positive overall outcomes and real-world benefits.
- It has yet to gain significant traction and/or be explored deeply within the Ethereum ecosystem.
The fellowship focuses on research Broader unexplored use case areas Rather than specific products or pre-marketing developments. We are not seeking proposals for incremental improvements to well-studied and well-funded areas, such as AMMs, lending protocols, digital art, collectible intellectual property, prediction markets, domain names, etc.
Fellowship details
- Full-time Fellowship: Fellows will receive a monthly stipend to support their work.
- Regular updates: Fellows are expected to share monthly drafts and final report at the end of the six-month period.
- EF team participation: Fellows will be provided with group chats, mentorships, and weekly check-ins with the EcoDev research team.
Fellowship outcomes
Fellows are expected to submit monthly progress reports and a final report summarizing their findings at the end of the six-month period. In addition, fellows will present their work to the EcoDev research team, with opportunities to exchange ideas at public events.
