US Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has today sanctioned Oko Design Bureau and added 3 crypto addresses belonging to it to the list of Specially Designated Nationals (SDN) as part of its Russia-related designations.
The design bureau Oko, founded in 2022 and headquartered in St. Petersburg, describes its specialty as the production of “ultra-cheap multi-functional unmanned aerial vehicles to solve the problems of volunteer battalions and PMCs.”

In June 2023, the Russian news site kommersant.ru published an article entitled “Oko Construction Bureau Prepares Privet-82 Unmanned Aerial Vehicle for Use in Special Operations Zone” detailing tests conducted by Oko for its “kamikaze-type aircraft Privet-82”. drones”. According to the article, work is underway “on equipping drones with warheads; are being prepared for first combat use”.
Later, in January 2024, Oko announced on its Telegram channel that it would stop accepting orders, due to a “large and dramatic volume of production” which would “completely burden our staff for several months”.

Oko Design Bureau’s website contains three crypto addresses (Bitcoin, Tron and Ethereum). These addresses only received about $400 of cryptocurrency, mostly to their Bitcoin address. The website also has a fiat payment option, which redirects users to the Tinkoff site. This page reveals that the company has raised about $1,698 through fiat payments.
