We are developing how to build ethereum.org. Starting January 20th, we are baptized
Shape courses – 6-week intense building periods followed by 2-week cool-down periods. For the first cycle, each project below will ship by the end of February – and does not automatically roll over to the next cycle.
Quick point of clarification: This is the course roadmap for the ethereum.org website, not the Ethereum protocol.
We will ship the following projects by the end of February in our first cycle:
Fundamental improvements to Ethereum.org
Interactive roadmap 🛣️
to prepare Vitalik’s Roadmap for Ethereum More beginner-friendly and interactive, helping newcomers understand the development and future of Ethereum.
Listen to learn 🎧
Implemented audio capabilities for home pages, allowing users to listen to articles instead of reading them.
Web3 implementation 🔗
Adding native Web3 features to ethereum.org for the first time – wallet connections and direct onboarding to decentralized applications.
Dashboard Center 📊
Create a central location for core Ethereum trackers and community resources. Join our discord To suggest which dashboards you think should be included!
Content updates 📚
Update existing content
One of our biggest priorities is ensuring our documentation stays up to date with the rapid development of Ethereum. We are comprehensively updating the content across the site.
New educational content
Working with freelance writers to expand our educational resources and fill content gaps.
Want to help create new Ethereum content? Join us on Discord And ask how you can contribute!
Pectra Updates
Preparing ethereum.org content for the Pectra upgrade to ensure our community understands these important protocol updates.
Translation quality 🌍
Implement new systems to improve and maintain translation quality across all languages.
Non-English experience 🌐
Explore ways to improve the experience for non-English speaking users beyond translations. This could include better comment systems, UI improvements, or changes to content organization – we’ll be testing different approaches throughout this course.
Migrate UI components 💨
Work with an existing community contributor to fully transition from Chakra components to Shadcn UI by the end of the course.
App Router Relay ⚡
Implement server components to improve performance and load times.
Ecosystem projects
ethproofs.org 🔍
Launching Very Soon™: A new platform for tracking zkVM capabilities, supporting Ethereum’s journey towards ray chain and stealth.
Launchpad updates ⚡
Updated launchpad.ethereum.org to support MAXEB changes for validators.
Project support 🎨
- RIG: Support the EF research team with branding, web design and development
- Geodework Project: Branding and Website Design (more details coming soon!)
Community participation 🤝
Interaction via social media 📱
Initiate a more active cross-platform presence to better engage with the Ethereum community. Initial concentration:
- More regular updates on our work and progress
- Highlighting community contributions
- Share educational content
- Build deeper connections with the ecosystem
Community recognition 🎉
Distributing certificates of appreciation to distinguished contributors in 2024
Looking forward
After the first cycle ends in February, we will take a two-week cooling-off period to reflect on our deliverables and plan the next cycle. We’ll post an update during the cool-down period to share what we’ve shipped and what we’ve learned!
